And Jean Makes 12

I knew it would happen. You know how it is when you get up in front of a group and begin to thank all those who made the event possible. Then you forget someone. And they let you know you forgot them And they mention it so you know they know you forgot them. Well, I forgot to list Jean as one of my readers. So I already have a dozen readers. Who knew I would attract such attention by simply writing what comes out of my mind?

But before I get too excited by this popularity, I need to remember that Jesus had 12. And look what happened to him. Maybe I should have stopped at 5 or 6.

I think Jesus's 12 were a little more than readers/listeners to his teaching. Beware of casual comparisons, my dear.

Houston, uhh Tranquility Base here, the Eagle has Landed!

Roger Twang, Tranquility, we copy you on the ground. You got a bunch of guys turning blue, thanks a lot!!

Paul, ya got me!! The Ernmeister!

Please excuse the above, just hadda do it. Special occasions and all, ya know?

That Twang/Tranquility quote was by CAPCOM Charlie Duke, who later became the 10th man on the moon in l972, and is a dedicated born again believer. Got to meet him and get his autographed picture a few months ago.

No, I don't have a blog, and there are lots of days I barely have time or no time to comment like this, but I enjoy adding comments on Christian web sites, and occasionally political/newsy ones.

I thought for sure that 72/73 bit would give it away, but it just made it more interesting. As for John, haven't heard from him or of him since about 1975, and hope he's doing well.

The Marcy barbecue story actually I don't think pertained to you directly, but was about the Fits clan attending church in Dalkena, Wa before the SPM days, with their concern that the preaching maybe was a bit entertaining, but missing some Christocentricity. (Sheesh, I sound like I just named some Album for "the Police" or something!)

Remember when John arranged for our Y group to put on a message program for a teen group in LibLake, and you introduced me as performing some SOLID ROCK music, and I played the hymn on me horn?

Amazing how aviationary the 4th dimension is! (namely, time flies!)

I was in CDA 8 plus years, Sioux Falls 1, and Spoky 8, and since then I've been a happy Tarheel. Beautiful place that I once stupidly thought was named after cigarettes, when actually the other way around!

Interventional Cardiologist and Pacemaker specialist would be one categorization of myself (specialized BIO electricity!)

A more important description would be former Dondie like square sinner, saved by GRACE and special Jesus Christ hematology!

Spent two summers post high school with mission evangelism and grunt/sweat church camp construction projects in South America with "Teen Missions." Life changing!

My special sweetheart grew up in NY, just celebrated our 30th! She's been a wonderful wife and INSPIRATION to me, the stuff she does CONTENDING for the faith, would best be discussed elsewhere. 3 Young' uns, Daughter a critical care nurse, she and hub made me GRAMPA E in February! Middle is son, in Law School at place with strong christian affiliation, already fighting evil as a student, maybe ACLU's soon worst nightmare, if God wishes, the tools are definitely there. Youngest has felt a STRONG calling to Pastoral Ministry, and just enrolled in a Christian college as prep for Seminary, in let's say, no Lukewarm, diluted place with diluted views of scripture, etc.

More later, maybe elsewhere, so as not to bore everybody else who's wondering what happened on this thread.

My attitude lately about lots of issues lately is largely inspired by Jude 3. My mindset sometimes gets a bit of charge about nuances, as long as the basics aren't messed with, which too many are trying to do lately.

Could sum a lot up with "Gimme that old time religion, gimme that old time religion (assuming equivalence with unabashed biblical christianity!)

It was good for Paul and Silas, it was good for Paul and Silas, it was good for Schlieper and Silas,

AND IT'S GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME!

Say what one will, I'm very much NOT into perpetual paralyzing analysis about how to better "do church," or offer better dancing bear shows to entice interest into something we are supposed to worry about as being "offensive" while swelling the ranks of the first church of the TARES. Sometimes I wonder if some go so overboard as to almost let the tares defacto determine what the message is allowed to be. (not inferring anything about anyone here!) Just my revulsion at lots of fads and trends lately involving too much diluted, easy believism. We must be humble, loving, and sensitive to need, and servant minded, but NOT in a way that apologizes for, or dilutes or deflates the TRUTH, THE MESSAGE, and the need for REPENTANCE, and TRANSFORMING FAITH in CHRIST, which is the SAME through the ages.

Well, sweet Sassy Molassy, now my meandering mind is spouting off, I guess I better quit now before violating some lack of ordination clause or something!

Your family looks and sounds very special. More later. Very proud of you brother!

P.S. Believe it or not, my Board name came about another way than what you'd think. My favorite SECULAR group of all time has been Emerson, Lake, and Palmer, and 16 years ago they reunited and put out another album with the title song "Black Moon." When I was signing up, at my dear wife's urging, to post on a christian web site 4 years ago, I looked at some of the variety of board names people used, and I chose "Blackmoon," only to find it was already taken! That's when WhitemoonG was "born," and just used it ever since.
